If you are at like $29.97, then look for a andes mint near the register. They are $0.25, then you will only have to pay $0.22, but you will still get a $1 rebate back. Pretty sweet deal for diapers! I plan on doing this transaction many times this week. You can also go to here for another link to a $3 coupon, and here. Make sure when printing from these links to press the your browser’s back button a few times to be able to print 2 coupons from each link. So, altogether you can get 6 coupons from each computer you have! One thing to remember is that you can only get one rebte per address though.

My Lucky Days

Sarah & I went to do some pharmacy shopping last night and this afternoon. It was a terrific trio! Let me explain…

First was Rite Aid. We went to a Rite Aid that we don’t frequent too often. We usually like to stick with our favorite store and favorite cashiers, but this one was right across the street from Christian’s karate, and we had just dropped him off for class and had some time.  When we walked in, we checked to see who the cashier was, and recognized her as one that had given Sarah a hard time a while back- this did not look so good. Well, we decided to walk around and see what we could come up with that wouldn’t be too complicated. So, we finally get our items and coupons figured out, which was the easiest since we had Rebekah, Noah & Matthew with us, and go to check out. The cashier scans about half my items and then sees my coupon folder and asks if I have any coupons. I say yes, and she just stands there and stops scanning my items. So, I just stand there waiting for her to continue. Then I realize that she isn’t going to continue until I give her my coupons. This is never a good sign in my experience. So, I give her my coupons and she lays them all out and put them in piles and checks them all out. She did have a problem with one, and called over the manager. The manager wasn’t sure and I was trying to explain why it was ok to use it. Finally she says “If it scans, then take it” – WHEW! I hate having to put items back, it messes up my totals! (I just printed out my Rite Aid coupon policy tonight to keep with me just in case this comes up again!) So, she finishes scanning all my items and scans all my coupons, and my total came to $1.87. I thought that was high, since I usually have my orders figured out to be under $0.50, but I paid with my gift card and was done. Then while Sarah was checking out, I was looking over my receipt. Well, a shaving cream was scanned twice, but I only purchased one. So, when Sarah was done I took my receipt over and told the manager. So, she looked over it and decided to give me a refund. The shaving cream was $3.21, and I was wondering how they were going to handle this since I only paid $1.87 for everything. Well, she saw that I paid with a gift card, and then put $3.21 on a gift card and gave it to me. WOW! I walked out of there with a bag of stuff and $1.34 more than I came in with!

Then, later that night we went to Walgreens. It was very late, and I was very tired. Also, very late on Friday nights once a month, the catalina machines that print coupons out go down for maintenance. This had happened to us once before and we had to wait almost a hour for them to come back up (why we waited I do not know, it must have been a good money maker!). So. the only thing I was buying last night was two toothpastes, which I had to pay for separately.  So, I paid for the first one and I used a $3 coupon and $0.99 on my gift card. Well, after paying a $4 coupon is supposed to print out but it didn’t. So, the cashier calls over the manager. He tries it again, and it still doesn’t work. So, he decides to just refund my money and give me the toothpaste for free. Ok, sounds good. Well, he hands me $4 in cash! That was pretty good since I paid with a coupon and gift card. So, then he decides to ring up my second toothpaste as $0.00 so I would get it for free. Just as he is finishing up, I hear the catalina machine click back on.  Then after my receipt prints, would you believe the $4 coupon prints out! Well, he didn’t know what to do. He already gave it to me for free and then the coupon prints. So, after thinking for a few minutes he just gives me the coupon and says that it would just be easier that way! So, I left with 2 toothpastes, $4 cash, and a $4 coupon! He is now my new favorite manager! Sorry Mr Gruenetzler (I know I spelled that wrong), but Mr Superman wins!

Today we go to our favorite Rite Aid. I had two simple transactions and a good cashier was on, so I was feeling good! Well, when I was checking out, my wellness discount come off of some sale price items which I wasn’t counting on, so my coupons were too much for what I had bought. So, I didn’t give her all my coupons, but my last coupon was a buy one get one free coupon.  When she put in the amounts, it sent my order into a negative. Usually when that happens I have to look around for something close to the negative amount to bring it back to positive. Well, not today, she just ended my transactions with negative balances. That was certainly easier and cheaper! So, I walked out of there with 2 bags of stuff and spent no money at all, plus I will get $17 in rebates! Not bad for a spur of the moment shop with no real intended purchases.

Sometimes those Saturday shops where you just walk around the store really looking at everything produces some great deals. My only regret is that by then, it is too late to post them because there are only a few hours left!

Walgreens deal for this week

Here is a great deal for Walgreens this week:

Reach toothbrushes and floss are both on sale for 3/ $9

A while back there were coupons in the newspaper for buy one get one free toothebrushes and ones for floss as well. Plus there were $1 off coupons for each.

So here is what to do:

Buy:

Note:
Make sure that you hand over the coupons in that order! Always give manufacturers coupons first, and the walgreens coupons last. Otherwise you will get the dreaded beepage and your coupons will not scan! This is one reason I really don't like Walgreens!

Link to the master list of Rite Aid printables: http://http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=863426

One thing I would like to note is that in order to print scannable coupons from the google docs sites, you will need to click the download link at the top of the page and then click the open button in the grey box that pops up. Then when the PDF opens you can print from there.
You can also get video values coupons directly from Rite Aid's website: www.riteaid.com, the link is in the middle of their homepage. You will basically watch 30 second commercials and get coupons in return. I will usually do that if I only need 1 or 2 copies of that coupon, but if it something that I will be buying a lot of, I will usually use the above links so I can print out more coupons at a time.

A great website that I get most all of my coupon links from is http://www.slickdeals.net . I go into the pharmacy forum, and click on the store and date that I am looking for. It is great to read through the second post on each thread, because that is where they post all the coupon links for any printable coupons to go with all sale items. They will also match up rebate & sale items. Most of the time, items that are in the monthly rebate book will be on sale sometime during that month.

(thanks slickdeals!)

Free Huggies Diaper Sample

CVS

Here is how to coupon at CVS:
CVS uses the Extra Care Bucks program. Extra Care Bucks are basically store coupons that work like store credit. They can be used in combination with any coupons (manufactures & cvs coupons). There will be items on sale each week that will produce extra care bucks. What we strive to do, is buy items that are free after extra care bucks and pay for those items using our extra care bucks- so no money out of pocket.
Here is a example:
This week Oral b toothbrushes are on sale for $4, and will produce a $4 extra care buck. limit 2
Here is a good scenario for that:
Buy 2 Oral b toothbrushes
Use the buy one get one free coupon from this Sunday's paper (PG brandsaver)
Pay $4, get back $8 in extra care bucks. You just made $4 in store credit!
Now, if you already have extra care bucks, make sure that you use them to pay for the toothbrushes, and then you have spent no money, but have increased your extra care bucks. Pretty simple.
Extra care bucks usually expire in one month.
Also, a good investment is to buy a green bag tag. These are usually hanging by the register. They cost $1. Have the cashier scan it each time you shop there. After 4 uses, you will get a $1 extra care buck.
A lot of times the free after extra care bucks items are sold out quickly. Do not despair! Always ask for a raincheck. I always get rainchecks. They are really useful. Sometimes there are no good sales to use your extra bucks on, and I don't want to just waste them on CVS's overpriced merchandise! So, then I will break out my stack of rainchecks, and figure out what to buy from those. A lot of times, I would prefer to get a rain check than to buy the actual item (unless I have a coupon expires soon!). That way I can buy it when I need to roll my extra bucks. Also, when they print extra bucks from a rain check, you usually get more than the value of the item, because all rain check extra bucks print in dollar increments.
Example:
I recently bought 5 thermacare for $2.50 each with a rain check. When she printed the extra bucks, each one printed out for $3, thus I made $2.50 extra! Rain checks are the best! One thing to note is to remember to have them print out each extra buck separately. They are easier to use in smaller denominations and you will make more extra bucks! Like in the above situation where I bought 5 thermcare: If they were to print them out all together it would be one big extra buck for $12.50, but since she printed them all separately, I got 5 extra bucks for $3 each equaling $15. Hopefully this makes sense!

I started CVS'ing about a year ago. I made a initial investment of about $30. Over the course of a year, my extra bucks increased to over $130! Also, I have gotten well over $1,000 worth of products. Sometimes, I have even SPENT my extra bucks on things I have needed (but weren't free). So, I have definitly made out pretty well for one year. Every once in a while I will have to pay a few cents (like when my total is 50 cents, and all my extra bucks are in dollar increments), but that is not very often.
Now, you may be wondering what do you do with that many extra bucks? Well, I have decided to start to cash them out with rebates. I will buy things that have rebates on them and use my extra bucks to pay for them. Then, I mail them off, and in 6-8 weeks receive a actual check that I can cash! Some good items to look for at CVS that have rebates: BioLuxe conditioner, organix shampoo, olay (http://www.olay.com/), Previcid (last weeks parade magazine in the Sunday paper). One note: Do not do the rebate for Naked Naturals haircare! There have been multiple reports of problems with that one.

So make sure to go out and get your Oral B toothbrushes this week or rain check if they are sold out!

Rite Aid Coupons

Rite Aid
We love love love Rite Aid so most posts will probably be all about this fantastic pharmacy.
Rite Aid has GREAT store coupons that can often be paired up with manufacturer’s coupons.
There are currently three Rite Aid programs you will definitely want to sign up to if you want the absolute best deal.
#1. Rite Aid Single Check Rebates (SCR) – click your way to happiness.
Each month Rite Aid has rebates they offer. Quite offer you are able to walk away with free items with this program.
#2. Rite Aid Video Values – http://my.adperk.com/splash/d30b50da/index.html – You do have to watch videos in order to gain access to these coupons, but it’s very much worth it. In addition to obtaining a coupon with every video you will receive a $5 off you $20 purchase with ever 20 credits you get. Those $5 coupons are a must in the hardcore RiteAid world.
#3. Rite Aid Wellness
This program has yet to go national, but you can sign up now no matter where you live. Wellness is supposed to be open to everyone in the Spring. From what I hear you won’t be able to get the sale price without your wellness card. About every two weeks Wellness comes out with new coupons there are very vague about what you can purchase with them, which makes them wonderful! Some of my favorites are:
$2 off beauty/skincare (priced over$2.99), $2 off vitamins (over $2.99), $1 off shave care (over $1.99), $1 cleaning product (over $1.99)
We’ll be posting two different scenarios for Rite Aid each week. One will be for the newbie couponers, and the other will be a hardcore coupon event. I don’t want cheap stuff. I want it FREE! If you’re hardcore you will become overloaded with free things that you’ll fall in love with! Be prepared.

Word of Caution: If your Rite Aid is full of super strict people it is likely you will not be able to get the very best deal, but you should be able to get out of the store without spending very much. Some stores are weird about the coupons they’ll accept. Some won’t take the VV with the wellness. Some won’t take more than one VV coupon for the same item. If you’re new to Rite Aid I would suggest starting out slowly and get a feel for the people working at your Rite Aid. (My Rite Aid is FANTASTIC! I know there are others not so lucky as I).

Coupon Key:
VV = Video Values
MC = Manufacturer's Coupon
W = Wellness

Walgreens

Walgreens is the pickiest coupon place among my three favorite pharmacies. If you’re looking to get an item free with a coupon expect a BEEP and “I’m sorry, but this coupon won’t take,” resulting in a little bit of frustration and no free product.

BUT NEVER FEAR! There can be ways around these nuisances. Use a manufacturer’s coupon with a store coupon. ALWAYS use the manufacturer’s coupon first and then hand over the store coupon. This will produce a much smoother transaction.

If you’re going to be buying an item for .99 cents and you have a coupon for $1 off…. Good luck. The luck you have with your coupons really depends on the people working in your particular store. Sometimes the employees will give the coupon back saying it won’t scan – they don’t make an effort at all. If you have fantastic people at your pharmacy they will find a way! Usually being that they will mark the coupon down to match the price of the item you’re buying. (Some employees claim that they’re not allowed to mark down coupons –I don’t know why not-).

The plus side to couponing at Walgreens is that you can use as many different store coupons as you possibly can.

Example – You could use a $2 off Band-Aid (from the Walgreens coloring book).

$1 off BandAid brand product/manufacturers

And let’s pretend there was a $1 off coupon in the Walgreens March Coupon Booklet (there isn’t!). You would be able to get $3 off a box of band-aids. It would be easy to restock your first aid supply with that kind of deal.

Another thing with Walgreen coupons – you do NOT have to surrender them to the cashier. I ask the cashier to scan the coupon, and I put it back in my coupon folder. The manufacturer’s coupons do, however, have to go into the magical coupon box that gets sent away to the manufacturer never to be seen again.
